This has got to be one of the strangest stories I have reported on: The Gettysburg Warriors, the athletics team of a public high school in Gettysburg, PA, has had the logo shown here since 2013 or 2014 and was created by a district employee. Earlier this year, Kiertsan Demps, a graduate of the high school who unsuccessfully ran for mayor of Gettysburg in 2021 and is now running for a borough council seat, filed and obtained the trademark for “Gettysburg Warriors” along with its logo under a new LLC — Kierstan’s Kids, LLC — and is now basically extorting the school to pay a licensing fee for them to use it, even though she didn’t design it. She first said the fees would be used to build a community center but later said they would be used to “supplement the student assistance program
