A trio of packaging projects featuring some expressive typography this week, with work from Guadalajara, Milan, and Minneapolis. Ometeo by Toro Pinto Ometeo is a herb-heavy gin available in Mexico, with lemon from the state of Jalisco as its main botanical and a hint of mysticism. The packaging, designed by Guadalajara, Jalisco-based Toro Pinto, is its own blend of eccentric ingredients revolving around a layered, collage-y sun illustration punctuated by a wildly funky wordmark that defies categorization. As cool as it is at first glance, though, it might have benefitted from some additional finessing in the “O”s that don’t taper and the “M” whose very top strokes are too bold and would have looked pretty bad-ass if they were as thin as the top horizontal strokes of the “E” (or at le
