Originally launched as a seasonally available Christmas beer in 1926 by Brouweij Artois in Leuven, Belgium, Stella Artois is a pilsner now owned and produced by Anheuser-Busch InBev and is the third leading beer brand in the world. Able to trace its roots back to 1366 when Brouweij Artois first opened as Den Hoorn brewery (before it was bought by head brewer Sebastian Artois and subsequently renamed in 1717), the brand is rumored to boast “ the world’s oldest logo.” In an effort to reposition itself as a more modern, informal offering for a younger crowd, Stella Artois has introduced a new “brand world” designed by global branding agency Jones Knowles Ritchie.
