New Name and Logo for Meta

Established in 2004, along with the introduction of its then only and now flagship social media platform, Facebook Inc. is the multinational technology evil conglomerate holding company that serves as the parent organization of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus. As I am sure most of you are aware, Facebook Inc. changed its name last week to Meta — full name Meta Platforms, Inc. The name change is presented as the gateway to “bring the metaverse to life and help people connect, find communities and grow businesses” but, as most of us most likely sense, it is a way to create some distance between the horribly tarnished reputation of the Facebook name as a corporation and the multiple social media platforms so many people use day to day, particularly Instagram and WhatsApp
