You can’t Judge a Book by its Library

Quickly after introducing a new logo, The National Library of Israel had to command-z after a very vocal outcry that the new logo didn’t include any visual cues that this was from Israel or specifically, as Education Minister Yoav Kisch said, it lacked “any connection and identifiability to the Jewish People, the State of Israel, Zionism, or the Hebrew language”. The new logo probably alluded to the columns in the new Herzog & de Meuron building but it was hard to compete with that pretty nice icon that turned the stripes of the Israeli flag into a book.
