A trio of food establishments from around the world this week, with work from Portland, Lima, and Medellín. Yaki by Old Friend Yaki combines two awesome things into one box: teriyaki and BBQ, throwing in some rice, veggies, and slaw for good measure, accompanied by their sauce nicknamed “soss”. Located in Waco, TX, it has two locations: a food truck and a drive-in. The identity, designed by Portland, OR-based Old Friend, also combines two awesome things into one: a typical Chinese takeout box — that TIL is called an oyster pail — and a cowboy hat into a funny little character with minimal arms, legs, and face.
