Established in 1876, Warburtons is a UK staple offering bakery products that include wax wrapped loaves, wholemeal products, crumpets, pancakes and bread rolls, among an ever-expanding portfolio. A fifth-generation, family-owned business, the company traces its origins to Bolton, Lancashire, when Thomas Warburton and his wife Ellen Warburton first baked a batch of four loaves of bread and six cakes that sold out in under an hour in their small grocery shop. Still headquartered in Bolton, Warburtons now has 11 bakeries, 16 depots, a fleet of almost 1,000 vehicles delivering to 18,500 retailers, and employs more than 5,000 people, making it the largest bakery business in the UK.
